Mark Froehlich

Founder & CEO

Mark's expertise includes risk management and mitigation, managing for value, strategic financial leadership, operational excellence, and turnaround management. Froehlich founded Impact Partners, an investment and advisory firm, in 2001, and is an operating partner of Star Mountain Capital, a private equity firm. Based in New York, Star Mountain Capital was honored by Fund Intelligence as the top performing investment fund under 1 billion dollars. Mark served for many years as the Treasurer of Thompson Caterpillar, and as Vice President of Thompson Investments, LLC. He has served on the board of directors of Secureworks, Inc and CapitalSouth Bank. Mark holds a Masters in Public and Private Management from Birmingham Southern College, and attended the Focused Financial Series of executive education at Harvard Business School.

Thomas Anthony

Co-Founder & Chief Information Officer

Thomas leads the Architecture/infrastructure and scalable distributed machine learning/deep learning system development for AnalyticalAI. Thomas is an NVIDIA Certified CUDA Instructor, with skills as an Analytical Research Scientist and expertise in Big Data Analytics, Deep Learning, High Performance Computing systems and, Enterprise Infrastructure and Applications. He placed 3rd in the Department of Homeland Security's “Passenger Screening Algorithm Challenge”, along with David. He has over 10 years of experience in HPC Big Data system design and served as one of the architects and designers of the largest HPC platform in the State of Alabama. Thomas has worked as the chief big data consultant for a fortune 500 company in addition serving in a pivotal product development role at AnalyticalAI, Thomas through AnalyticalAI serves as chief big data and machine learning consultant for a large wealth management company.

Frank Skidmore, MD

Co-Founder & VP Research

Dr. Skidmore is a board certified, highly published neurologist with significant experience as a funded researcher. Dr. Skidmore specializes in large data applications, using cluster-based computing as well as Deep Learning paradigms, for automated diagnosis and prediction. He has expertise in Research and development of a variety of tools to define brain signals, including Deep Learning, Vector Support Machine Applications, and (for validation) standard statistical techniques. His Principal focus is on two areas of analysis: 1) analysis of 3D images such as structural MRI and CT scans, and 2) deriving information from high-dimensional MR data, such as DWI and fMRI.

William Monroe, PhD

Sr, Data Scientist

William develops and manages Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions at Analytical AI and has been an employee since October of 2020. William is highly experienced at integrating computer algorithms with a user-centric focus. He was formerly the managing data and computational scientist at Alabama’s fastest supercomputer where he regularly worked with researchers from all domains to enhance their workflows with AI.  Prior to coming aboard, William led the data science analysis and technical support team for the University of Alabama at Birmingham COVID-19 response and was responsible for designing a data process to analyze and distribute COVID-19 testing results to every collegiate institution in the state. William has had longstanding and extensive academic and work collaborations at UAB with Thomas Anthony, and the late David Odaibo, PhD (a cofounder and first CTO at Analytical AI).

Advisory Board

Maqbool Patel, PhD.

Maqbool Patel, PhD. Is the Chief Technology Officer at Innovazones, a rapidly growing Dallas based technology company. Prior to Innovazones, Dr. Patel served as Chief Technology Officer at Vincari, which was acquired by Nuance in 2019. In addition to servinf as the CTO, Dr. Maqbool played a vital role in the business leadership at Vincari. Dr. patel stayed with Vincari until his contract with Nuance ended.

 

Dr. Patel has over 20 years of strategic leadership experience in Healthcare IT.  Dr. Patel served as the VP of Development at YourcareUniverse, an advanced cloud based solution for integration, population health management, and advanced analytics across millions of patients. Before this he was the Vice Preident of Development for Integration and Interoperability and Business Intelligence at MEDHOST where he lead the interoperability and meaningful use (MU) efforts which lead to the successful attestation of MEDHOST clients for MU. Additionally. Dr. Patel was one of the founding members and CTO of Acuitec Inc., a Preoperative Information Management solution provider acquired by MEDHOST in 2012. Between 1998-2009, Dr. Patel held leadership positions at GE Healthcare, Emageon, CircleSource, TCS, and other premier healthcare companies. He is also the Founding Director and Information Security Officer of the non-profit Red Crescent Clinic of Alabama(RCCA), a free clinic for indigent patients. Dr. Patel received his PhD from Drexel University in Computer Engineering, and BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Dr. Patel also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Kristopher D. Brown

Kristopher Brown is a partner in the firm’s Life Sciences group. Mr. Brown negotiates and structures private equity and venture capital financing transactions. He also advises on corporate and transactional matters for numerous financial and corporate strategic investors as well as emerging growth companies in the life sciences, healthcare, financial and technology sectors.
Mr. Brown has experience in the full range of complex commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, public offerings, licensing transactions, the formation of investment partnerships, and the creation of strategic and collaborative alliances and joint ventures. Practicing for more than 20 years, Mr. Brown has advised on more than 250 transactions in the life sciences sector alone. In addition, he counsels investors, management executives, and boards of directors on governance and regulation issues and securities law matters.
Mr. Brown is listed as a “Life Sciences Star” and a “U.S. Transactional Rising Star” by LMG Life Sciences and has been listed as a recommended lawyer for life sciences and capital markets: equity and global offerings by The Legal 500, where he was cited as being “highly skilled and committed” and noted for the “strength of his client relationships.”
Prior to joining Goodwin in 2018, Mr. Brown was a partner at Dechert LLP.

Operating & Industry Advisory Board

Patricia Tadoro Bolin

Ms. Bolin is the Managing Partner of ICS Advisory, where she leads the company portfolio of mission, technology and operational services for government, international/trade support and technology innovation; as well as, providing business-to-business advisory services.

Bolin previously served in the Treasury Department’s legacy U.S. Customs Service and its predecessor Customs and Border Protection (CBP) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Served for over twenty years in various leadership and functional capacities on major Agency-wide initiatives. She served on the Executive Team that determined mission sets, budget and staffing for 3 major components (CIS, ICE and CBP) when DHS was formed.

Since leaving the government, Ms. Bolin has served in senior leadership capacities for small businesses. After her career in government, she was recruited by the major consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton and later Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where she, led internal programs and projects, account planning, business development, acquisition, contract management activities and, provided internal coordination for those firms. She also led programs, projects and provided subject matter-level expertise in support of various DOD, State, DOJ and Department of Homeland Security Programs.

Bolin serves as an Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the Border Security Technology Consortium (BSTC), an Executive Board Member for Women in Homeland Security (WHS) and an Inaugural Member of the Border Patrol Industry Academy (BPIA). She recently served as the first DHS EAGLE II Unrestricted IPT Chairperson.

Jessica Sciacca

Ms. Sciacca brings senior governmental, logistics and business development experience to Analytical AI.  Ms. Sciacca worked for the George W. Bush Administration working in the Office of Presidential Advance at The White House, where she helped coordinate all domestic and international event and travel logistics for President George W. Bush, traveling to more than 24 countries with the President, including to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. Ms. Sciacca brings sophisticated business development skills and advice to Analytical AI.

 

When President Bush’s second term ended, Sciacca returned to Birmingham, Alabama as the Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing at Bruno Event Team, a sports marketing company with 12 offices in the U.S. and Canada. She oversaw the BET Creative Works division, which created advertising campaigns for each of the major sporting events BET managed.  Her duties included managing the overall marketing campaigns for each Bruno Event Team event, along with media and public relations for the entire company.

 

Mrs. Sciacca received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Marketing from Auburn University.

 

Sciacca currently advises in the areas of business development and logistics. She and her husband, Ryan, have two daughters, Mary Bryant and Hattie.

Ryan Evans

Ryan Evans is the founder, Editor, and CEO of War on the Rocks Media, a media and education company focused on strategy, defense, and foreign affairs that publishes War on the Rocks. After founding War on The Rocks, Evans partnered with Admiral William McRaven to publish the Texas National Security Review.

 

He previously worked at the Center for the National Interest, the Center for Naval Analyses, the Center for National Policy, and the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization. Mr. Evans also worked as a deployed U.S. Army civilian in Afghanistan, assigned to the British-led Task Force Helmand. He enjoys reading, learning from interesting people, and single-malt scotch.

Will Wright

Will Wright is the Vice President of Innovation at Protective Life Corporation where he leads the company’s innovation efforts. Will has a background as an entrepreneur and consultant. He previously co-founded, ran and exited a digital health start up called Pack Health providing digital health coaching to people with chronic diseases. He has also led health, technology, and economic development-focused engagements as both an independent consultant and with McKinsey & Company. A native of Los Angeles, will calls Birmingham, Alabama home. Outside of work, Will is the President of the Harvard Club of Alabama and a board member of the United Negro College Fund. Will is a previous Birmingham board member of the American Cancer Society, Venture for America and the American Diabetes Association. Will has an MBA and MPH with honors from UC Berkeley and a BA magna cum laude in Biology from Harvard University.

Linda Friedland, MD

Dr Linda Friedland is a physician with over 25 years’ experience in clinical medicine and an international advisor to many of Fortune and Forbes global companies. She consults to healthcare, biotech, corporate and financial institutions. Among her roles, Dr Friedland, (based in Australia) is the head of Business Development at Firebrick Pharma Australia, senior consultant to TargImmune Therapeutics (Basel, Switzerland), cofounder and director of FFD Capital LLC USA and Medical Officer for the Anti-Inflammaging Company Dubai, UAE. Linda is also a non-executive director on several Healthcare boards. An author of seven health bestsellers with a long career in television and health media, she has developed public health and disease management programs in Asia, USA, Australia, Africa and the UK and delivered addresses in more than 30 countries.
